Yen Lap “Samson”Leung
Samson is a born-and-raised Darwin local and proud alumni of Darwin High School. Graduating from James Cook University in Townsville in 2013, he began his physiotherapy career in private practice in Melbourne. In 2016, he joined Maximise Physiotherapy Clinic, where he has become a valued member of the team.
Samson has extensive experience working with athletes across multiple levels, including the Vermont Football Club (Division 1 EFL), Hockey Victoria, and Hockey Australia. He has had the opportunity to travel internationally with the Australian Country Men’s and Women’s teams on three tours across New Zealand, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Vietnam, and Singapore.,” Samson remains actively involved in supporting local sporting clubs even thou he is a bit slower now.
In 2021, Samson became the clinic’s third partner and now leads both the clinical practice and management of the Casuarina Clinic.
Clinical Interests
Samson has a strong interest in acute injuries and persistent pain management. He takes a balanced approach to treatment, combining hands-on manual therapy with tailored exercise prescription. He has completed further training in dry needling, neck pain, headache management, chronic pain, paediatrics, and sports physiotherapy.
Outside of Work
Outside the clinic, Samson enjoys spending time with his wife and daughter. He is a loyal supporter of the Essendon Football Club and the North Queensland Cowboys and is always happy to chat about all things sport.
