The Cairns Team
Aaron Gandecha
Aaron was born and raised in Luton, England, and graduated with First Class Honours in BSc Physiotherapy from the University of Hertfordshire in 2016.
He began his career working in neurological rehabilitation before transitioning into private practice physiotherapy, where he developed a strong foundation in hands-on treatment and patient care.
In 2017, seeking a warmer climate and an active outdoor lifestyle, Aaron immigrated to Australia, spending his first five years practicing in Cairns. He then moved to the Northern Territory, joining the team at the Palmerton Clinic. After a year, he returned to Cairns to become a clinic partner and help establish Maximise Physiotherapy Cairns.
Physiotherapy Approach
Aaron takes a holistic approach to assessment and treatment, aiming to address both symptoms and underlying causes. With nearly a decade of private practice experience, he is skilled in a wide range of hands-on techniques, which he uses to relieve pain, restore joint range of motion, and normalize movement.
Passionate about exercise, sports science, and rehabilitation principles, Aaron applies this knowledge to support patients of all backgrounds—ranging from elite athletes to those seeking falls prevention and functional improvement in later life.
His clinical interests include:
Tendon injuries: tendinopathy, tendon tears or ruptures, tenosynovitis
ACL rehabilitation: both surgical and conservative approaches
Shoulder complex injuries
Chronic ankle instability
Injury prevention in sport

In his downtime, he loves walking his energetic dog Nahla, exploring waterfalls and beaches on his motorbike, learning Japanese, and playing video games.

More about our Bulk Billing Service
You may be entitled to medicare funding to see allied health professionals (including physiotherapists) through 2 different referral pathways accessed through your GP.
Most physiotherapy clinics will accept these referrals, however we do not charge any additional gap fee on valid referrals
The two referral pathways are outlined below;
1) GP Management Plan
Individuals with chronic health conditions may be entitled to receive medicare funding for 5 allied health appointments per calendar year.
2) Aboriginal or Torres Straight Islander Referral (ATSI TCA Referral)
Individuals who identify as Aboriginal or Torres Straight Islander may be entitled to medicare funding for 5 allied health appointments per calendar year for any issue that may be treatable by an allied health professional
Each pathway allows the individual to access medicare funding for up to 5 appointments with allied health professions per year. These 5 appointments may be split up amongst a number of allied health professions.
Both of these pathways are accessed through your general practitioner (GP), who makes the decision based upon their expert clinical reasoning and your individual health circumstances.
