We have a commercial grade 24 station gym on site enabling us to complete supervised rehabilitation alongside you. All patients are welcome to attend the clinic free of charge to use our facilities in between sessions to complete their exercises.

Extended initial appointments give us time to thoroughly assess your compliant and begin treatment. Where possible we will provide a diagnosis, hands on treatment as needed, extensive education and individualised exercise rehabilitation

You may be entitled to medicare funding to see allied health professionals (including physiotherapists) through 2 different pathways. We do not charge a gap on any medicare funded physiotherapy referrals

We are most definitely a hands on physiotherapy clinic. All our physiotherapists are trained in a variety of manual therapy and soft tissue techniques to assist in providing pain relief and restoring range of motion

You may be entitled to medicare funding to see allied health professionals (including physiotherapists) through 2 different referral pathways accessed through your GP.
Most physiotherapy clinics will accept these referrals, however we do charge not any additional gap fee on any valid referrals
The two referral pathways are outlined below;
1) Enhanced Primary Care Pathway Referral (EPC Referral)
Individuals with chronic health conditions may be entitled to receive medicare funding for 5 allied health appointments per calendar year.
2) Aboriginal or Torres Straight Islander Referral (ATSI TCA Referral)
Individuals who identify as Aboriginal or Torres Straight Islander may be entitled to medicare funding for 5 allied health appointments per calendar year for any issue that may be treatable by an allied health professional
Each pathway allows the individual to access medicare funding for up to 5 appointments with allied health professions per year. These 5 appointments may be split up amongst a number of allied health professions.
Both of these pathways are accessed through your general practitioner (GP), who makes the decision based upon their expert clinical reasoning and your individual health circumstances.
Our Physiotherapy Team
Aaron was born and raised in Luton, England. He completed his undergraduate degree at the University of Hertfordshire, graduating with a First Class Honours Degree in BSc Physiotherapy in 2016.
Aaron originally spent 6 months working in neurological rehabilitation before moving into private practice physiotherapy.
Aaron immigrated to Australia in 2017 and spent his first 5 years working in Cairns, before making a move to the Northern Territory and joining our team at the Palmerton clinic.
After a year spent in the Territory he returned to Cairns. Coming on board as a clinic partner and helping to establish Maximise Physiotherapy Cairns!
Aaron has a strong interest in exercise based rehabilitation and applying the science based principals of exercise to his physiotherapy practice.
His particular clinical interests are in:
Tendon injuries
ACL rupture rehabilitation (both conservative and surgical)
The shoulder complex
Chronic ankle instability
Injury prevention in sport
As part of his role at Maximise, Aaron takes an active role within the local sporting community.He has a great passion for raising injury prevention awareness and health literacy within the local athletic population.
He has delivered a number of educational sessions for local sporting teams and foundations since the clinic was established. Topic have included;
The ACL (knee),
Ankle sprains,
Medial tibial stress syndrome (shin splints)
Injury prevention in runners
The importance of dynamic warm ups in multi-directional sports
He has also provided pitch side sports coverage for a number of local soccer academies and for Gaelic football.
Outside of work Aaron is a keen sportsperson and sports scientist applying the principals learnt on the job to his sporting endeavours!
Having spent 4 years engaging in natural bodybuilding he has since decided to retrain and restart sprinting with the aim of competing next year.
Outside of physiotherapy and sports Aaron likes to keep himself very busy. His other hobbies include;
Walking Nahla his crazy dog
Visiting local beaches, waterfalls and the rainforest
Learning Japanese
Riding motorbikes

Computers/Technology
Ben graduated the Bachelor of Physiotherapy (1st class Honours) from CQU in 2019.
Since graduating Ben has worked in private practice and has done a lap of Australia where he first got the chance to work for Maximise in the Palmerston clinic.
Upon finishing the lap Ben returned to the team at the Cairns Clinic.
His professional interests include:

Outside of work Ben enjoys tennis, running and horse riding.
