Michael Ninneman
Michael completed his Bachelors Degree in Exercise and Sports Science through the University of Canberra/Charles Darwin University in 2018.
He subsequently spent five years working in the Health and Fitness industry, gaining valuable experience in strength and conditioning before completing his Masters in Physiotherapy at the University of Technology Sydney in 2022.
Michael has been working for Maximise Physiotherapy since 2022 becoming an integral part of the team at both our Palmerston and Humpty Doo Clinics.
Earlier this year he entered into our Post Graduate Masters Scholarship Program and is currently studying a double masters degree in Sports and Exercise Physiotherapy & High Performance Sport alongside his clinical work.
Clinical Interests
Michael has a keen interest in strength and conditioning, using these principles to prevent and manage a wide range of musculoskeletal conditions while optimising long-term movement health and performance.
He has a particular passion for lower limb pathologies, with a strong focus on knee, ankle, and hip injuries.
As an athlete himself, Michael understands the nuances of managing sports-specific injuries and appreciates the unique physical demands that different sports place on the body.
He is also a strong proponent of dry needling as part of his treatment approach, utilising it to complement his rehabilitation programs and enhance overall outcomes for his patients.
Outside Of Work
Michael has spent several years competing at an elite level in both Cricket (having spent a few years in Canberra with the ACT Comets) and more recently Triathlon.
As a keen triathlete he has taken part in 2 full distance Ironmans, and represented Australia at the Age Group World Duathlon Championships in Townsville 2024, picking up 4th place in the World Sprint Duathlon Championships.
Michael is a keen advocate in 'practicing what you preach' and can intermittently be found across the way making use of the fantastic facilities at ARC Fitness, or at local Parkruns.
Outside of his sporting endevours he enjoys all things family and Formula 1
Michael is available for appointments at both our Palmerston and Humpty Doo Clinics. His working days are Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday.
