Lauren Himing
(nee Hill)
Lauren is a highly experienced and approachable neurological physiotherapist, dedicated to helping people with complex neurological conditions achieve meaningful improvements in their mobility, independence, and quality of life.
After completing her Bachelor of Physiotherapy at La Trobe University in Melbourne in 2017, Lauren began her career in the public hospital system, working across both adult and paediatric services. She developed strong foundations in acute care, rehabilitation, and community therapy before relocating to the Northern Territory in 2020. Since then, she has become a trusted clinician in the NT and joined the Maximise Physiotherapy team in 2023, before becoming a clinic partner in 2025.

Neuro-respiratory physiotherapy, including airway clearance techniques and cough assist
She is trained in the Bobath concept, having completed multiple advanced courses, and is passionate about restoring natural movement patterns, reducing compensatory strategies, and building functional outcomes that matter to her clients. Lauren is also qualified in dry needling, using it within the neurological population to assist with muscle tone, range of motion, and pain relief.
NDIS expertise
Lauren has extensive experience working with NDIS participants and is well-regarded for her thorough assessments and clear, goal-focused reports. Case managers and support coordinators value her ability to translate complex presentations into practical, achievable therapy plans that empower clients and their support teams. She has worked with clients across the NT under NDIS, Worker’s Compensation, Motor Accident Compensation, DVA, and private funding.

Outside of work
Lauren enjoys walking and playing with her Groodle puppy, Howie, and has recently taken up running. She also loves to cook and is often found immersed in craft activities such as sewing or crochet or in home DIY projects/renovations.
